Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce has confirmed he’ll be back for his 13th NFL season, ending weeks of speculation. The 35-year-old Super Bowl champion made the announcement via a post on X through his “New Heights” podcast on Thursday.
“From the desk of @tkelce: ITS TIME FOR YEAR 13,” the post read, teasing a full breakdown in an upcoming podcast episode.
The Chiefs quickly celebrated the news with a simple post: “YEAR 13.”
Earlier in the day, ESPN’s Pat McAfee hinted at Kelce’s return during “The Pat McAfee Show,” sharing a message from Kelce himself.
“I’m coming back for sure,” Kelce wrote. “I want to get in the best shape of my career this offseason and climb back to the top. That last game left a bad taste in my mouth — I can’t end it like that.”
The Chiefs’ 2024 season concluded with a 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, and Kelce is clearly motivated to push for another championship run.
